Boat Tours

from:

If you want to go sightseeing in a city you live in or plan to visit, then you should consider a boat tour. Boat tours offer a relaxing time around a lake or river while at the same time, educating you about the surroundings. Boat tours are generally found in cities that border a large body of water such as the Mississippi River or Lake Michigan. Many boat tour companies offer a variety of options that will fit any budget.

The types of tours you can partake in include historical, architectural, sunset, skyline, moonlight, and dinner. Furthermore, sometimes you will find that you even have options as to the time length of the tour. For example, The Circle Line in New York City offers a 75 minute, 2 hour, or 3 hour tour around the city. Of course, the longer your tour the more of the city you see and learn about. The prices of these tours will vary depending on which option(s) you choose.

Boat tours are also a great for a date. They can allow people the opportunity to sit and get to know each other while taking in the sights. Dinner or moonlight tours are convenient if you are looking for a romantic outing with your sweetheart. If history is what you are looking for, then most boat tours will offer some degree of history. However, in some cities you may be able to find tour companies that have boat tours dedicated solely to history. If you plan to learn about architecture, then you will have to find a tour that specializes in this. Some cities, such as Chicago, will have an abundance of these tours due to the enormous about of architecture design within the city.

There are several ways to find boat tour companies. The first way is to research online. There are hundreds of boat tour companies out there and a simple internet search will help you to narrow down your options. Another option is to visit the Travel and Tourism Department of the state you are in or will be visiting. Many times these sites will have links for area activities, including boat tours. If you do not have time to do a little research online, look for coupon books at area restaurants, visitor centers, and airports. These coupon books will have information on area boat tours and many times a discount coupon.

No matter how you plan to explore a city, boat tours will be your best option. No other sightseeing adventure can give you as much or as many options as a boat tour. You are only limited by your imagination.
