If you’re a commercial fisherman who is looking to handle smaller fish in larger quantities you’ll want to look at boats that have lots of storage space. That means you should be considering an offshore fishing boat with large capacity generators and space for freezers to be added. Commercial offshore fishing boats are also out at sea for long periods of time so you’ll want to make sure when looking at offshore fishing boats that you get one that’s large enough and comfortable enough to accommodate your crew.
If you’re a weekender it means you are the type of person who loves to go offshore fishing for the fun of it. If you’re looking at boats trying to find the best kind for you here is some advice that might make your search for an offshore fishing boats a little easier. You’ll want such a boat to be small enough to handle by yourself or with a couple of friends. A lot depends on what you’re looking at. Certainly you will need enough room at the stern for a few fishing chairs. You’ll want decent engines and generators but you don’t have to look at boats with commercial grade equipment. What is more, you will not need to look at, or shop for a boat that is designed for net type fishing.
You might also want to look into whether there will be enough space on the offshore fishing boats you’re looking at to clean your catch. Most weekenders bring their catch in and have it taken care of at the dock if they are using a commercial fishing dock or bring it home. Whether you are a commercial fisher or a weekender there should be a boat to suit your needs.
